Daily Care

Remove dust and dirt with a vacuum cleaner or broom, following the direction of the pile. For stubborn dirt: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove any detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.

Important Notes

Due to the nature of hand-weaving, there may be variations in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, and dye inconsistencies. Please consider these as part of the charm of a hand-woven item. Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. As such, there may be a unique odor from the dyes used on the wool. This odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.

Tassels can be removed before shipping

If you request, the tassels attached to the corners and middle of the Gabbeh rug can be removed before delivery. Removing the tassels will not adversely affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
