Characteristics of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh is a long-pile rug deeply rooted in the lives of the Qashqai tribe, who nomadize in the Zagros Mountains of Iran. They are hand-woven using wool dyed with natural plant dyes. The "Persian Valiant" wool used in this product has excellent durability to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and its soft, pleasant texture, rich in oil, helps with body temperature regulation.
The wool is dyed with natural dyes, and then individually hand-woven by Iranian nomads, resulting in a Gabbeh characterized by its plush and comfortable feel.
Well-woven Gabbehs are so durable that they are said to last for 100 years.
Gabbehs, born from the harsh temperature fluctuations between day and night, are warm in winter and airy in summer, preventing a feeling of heat.
And above all, there is its artistry. Gabbehs created from the imagination of nomads often feature designs of animals and plants, with each one being a unique, original piece.
They can be laid on the floor or even displayed on a wall as art.
Gabbehs are meant to be used for a long time. Why not find your own special Gabbeh?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom, following the direction of the pile.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, carefully wipe with a wet cloth to remove the detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Please Note
Due to being hand-woven, there may be irregularities in shape and pattern, weaving inconsistencies, and dye variations. Please consider these as part of the charm of a hand-woven product.
Also, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, there may be a unique smell from the dyes used on the wool.
This smell will gradually disappear with use, but please be aware of this beforehand.
Pom-poms can be removed upon request

The pom-poms attached to the corners or sides of the Gabbeh can be removed upon request before shipping.
Removing the pom-poms does not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
If you wish to have the pom-poms removed, please feel free to contact us via email or phone below.
