Features of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh rugs are hand-woven by the Qashqai tribe, who nomadize in the Zagros Mountains of Iran. These rugs are deeply rooted in their daily lives, made from plant-dyed wool with long piles. The Persian Variant wool used in this product has excellent durability, allowing it to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and is rich in oil, making it soft and pleasant to the touch, skillfully regulating body temperature. Gabbeh rugs, hand-woven meticulously by Iranian nomads using this naturally dyed wool, are characterized by their plush and comfortable feel. A well-woven Gabbeh is said to last for 100 years, boasting exceptional durability. Originating from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh rugs are warm in winter and breathable in summer, preventing feelings of heat. And above all, their artistry stands out. Gabbeh rugs created by the nomads' imagination often feature designs of animals and plants, with each one being a unique, original piece. They can be laid on the floor or even displayed on walls as art. Why not find your own special Gabbeh that you can cherish forever?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the direction of the pile. If concerned about stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, carefully wipe with water to remove the detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Points to Note
Due to being hand-woven, there may be slight distortions in shape or pattern, weaving irregularities, or dyeing variations. Please consider these as part of the charm of a hand-woven item. Also, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool, which may result in a unique scent from the wool dye. This scent will gradually fade with use, but we ask for your understanding in advance.
Pom-poms can be removed upon request

The pom-poms on the corners or middle of the Gabbeh can be removed and shipped without them if you request. Removing the pom-poms does not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh. If you wish to have the pom-poms removed for shipment, please feel free to contact us via email or phone below.
