Characteristics of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh are long-pile carpets hand-woven by the Qashqai tribe, who nomadically inhabit the Zagros Mountains of Iran. They are dyed with natural plant dyes and are deeply rooted in their way of life. The Persian Variant wool used in this product has excellent durability, allowing the sheep to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and a soft, pleasant texture with a high oil content for effective body temperature regulation.
Gabbeh, made by Iranian nomads who carefully hand-weave each strand of this naturally dyed wool, are characterized by their fluffy and pleasant feel.
Well-woven Gabbeh are said to be so durable that they can last for 100 years.
Gabbeh, born from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, are warm in winter and well-ventilated in summer, preventing feelings of heat.
And above all, there is its artistry. Gabbeh, created from the imagination of nomads, often feature animal and plant designs, making each one a unique, original piece.
They can be laid on the floor or even hung on a wall as art.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh that you can use for a long time?
