Features of Persian Handwoven Gabbeh
Gabbeh are long-piled rugs handwoven by the Qashqai tribe, who nomadically inhabit the Zagros Mountains in Iran. These rugs are deeply rooted in their daily life and are made from vegetable-dyed wool. The Persian variant wool used in this product possesses excellent durability, enabling it to survive the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and is rich in oil, making it soft and pleasant to the touch, skillfully regulating body temperature.
Gabbeh, handwoven strand by strand by Iranian nomads using this wool dyed with natural dyes, are characterized by their fluffy and comfortable texture.
Well-woven Gabbeh are said to last for 100 years, boasting exceptional durability.
Born from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh are warm in winter and well-ventilated in summer, providing a cool feel.
And above all, there's their artistry. Gabbeh, created from the nomads' imaginations, often feature animal and plant designs, with each one being a unique, original piece.
They are not only suitable for laying on the floor but can also be displayed as art on walls.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh that you can use for a long time?
