Features of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh rugs are long-pile, hand-woven rugs made by the Qashqai nomads, who nomadize the Zagros Mountains in Iran, using plant-dyed wool rooted in their daily lives. The Persian Variant wool used in this product has excellent durability to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and its soft and pleasant texture contains a lot of oil to regulate body temperature well.
The Gabbeh rugs, hand-woven meticulously by Iranian nomads using this wool dyed with natural dyes, are characterized by their plush and pleasant feel.
Well-woven Gabbeh are said to last 100 years, boasting superior durability.
Born from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh rugs also have the characteristic of being warm in winter and airy and not feeling hot in summer.
And above all, it's their artistry. Gabbeh rugs created from the imagination of nomads often feature designs of animals and plants, making each one a unique, original piece with no two alike.
They can be laid on the floor, of course, but are also artistic enough to be hung on walls.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh, a Gabbeh that you can use for a long time?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom, following the direction of the pile.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a cloth tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove any detergent, and let it dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Important Notes
Due to being hand-woven, there may be variations in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, and dye inconsistencies. Please consider these as part of the charm of a hand-woven item.
Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique odor from the dyes used on the wool may be present.
This odor will gradually fade with use, but please be aware of this beforehand.
