Features of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh

Gabbeh rugs are long-pile rugs woven by the Qashqai nomads in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, using plant-dyed wool, and are deeply rooted in their daily lives. The Persian Variant wool used in this product has excellent durability to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains and contains a lot of oil to regulate body temperature well, resulting in soft and pleasant-feeling wool.
Gabbeh rugs, woven by Iranian nomads one by one with this wool dyed with natural dyes, are characterized by their fluffy and pleasant texture.
Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are said to last for 100 years, boasting superior durability.

Daily Care

Remove dirt and dust by vacuuming or sweeping along the nap.
If concerned about stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, carefully wipe with water to remove the detergent and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.

Please Note

Due to being hand-woven, there may be distortions in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, and dyeing irregularities. Please consider these as part of the charm of hand-weaving.
Also, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique scent from the wool dye may occur.
The scent will gradually disappear with use, but please be aware of this beforehand.

Tassels can be removed upon request for shipping

The tassels attached to the corners and middle of the Gabbeh can be removed upon request before shipping.
Removing the tassels does not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
