Gabbeh rugs are hand-woven by the Qashqai nomads living in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, using plant-dyed wool with a long pile, deeply rooted in their daily lives. The Persian Variant wool used in this product is known for its excellent durability, allowing it to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and its soft, pleasant texture, which contains a lot of oil to regulate body temperature effectively.
Gabbeh rugs are characterized by their plush and comfortable feel, made from this wool dyed with natural dyes and meticulously hand-woven strand by strand by Iranian nomads.

Daily Care

Remove dirt and dust by vacuuming or sweeping along the nap of the rug.

If you notice stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, and gently wipe the surface with a well-wrung towel. Afterward, wipe thoroughly with water to remove the detergent, then dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.

Due to being hand-woven, there may be variations in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, and dyeing inconsistencies. Please understand that these are part of the charm of a hand-woven product.

Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a distinctive odor from the wool dye may occur.

The odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this beforehand.

Pom-poms can be removed upon request for shipping

The pom-poms on the corners or in the middle of the Gabbeh can be removed upon request before shipping.

Removing the pom-poms does not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
