Characteristics of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh rugs are hand-woven by the Qashqai tribe, who nomadically inhabit the Zagros Mountains in Iran. They are long-pile rugs dyed with natural vegetable dyes and deeply rooted in their way of life. The Persian Variant wool used in this product is known for its excellent durability, necessary for survival in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and its soft, pleasant texture, which contains a high amount of oil for effective temperature regulation.
Gabbeh rugs, hand-woven meticulously by Iranian nomads using this naturally dyed wool, are characterized by their plush and comfortable feel.
A well-woven Gabbeh is said to last 100 years, boasting exceptional durability.
Born from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh rugs are warm in winter and breathable in summer, offering a cool sensation.
And above all, there is their artistry. Gabbeh rugs created from the nomads' imagination often feature designs of animals and plants, making each one a unique, original piece.
They can be laid on the floor or even hung on a wall as art.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh, a rug you can cherish for a lifetime?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom, following the direction of the pile.
If concerned about stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water and gently wipe the surface with a well-wrung towel. Afterward, wipe thoroughly with water to remove the detergent, then dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Please Note
Due to being hand-woven, there may be slight distortions in shape or pattern, weaving irregularities, and dyeing inconsistencies. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-woven items.
Also, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique odor from the dyes used to color the wool may be present.
This odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this beforehand.

Removing the pom-poms will not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
