Features of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh rugs are hand-woven by the Qashqai tribe, who nomadize in the Zagros Mountains of Iran. They are long-pile rugs dyed with natural plant dyes and made from wool, deeply rooted in their daily lives. The Persian Valiant wool used in this product has excellent durability, allowing it to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and a soft texture rich in natural oils, which helps regulate body temperature.
These Gabbeh rugs, hand-woven meticulously by Iranian nomads using naturally dyed wool, are characterized by their fluffy and pleasant feel.
Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are highly durable, said to last up to 100 years.
Gabbeh rugs, born from the extreme temperature differences between day and night, are warm in winter and airy in summer, preventing them from feeling hot.
And above all, there is their artistry. The Gabbeh rugs created by the nomads' imagination often feature designs of animals and plants, with each one being a unique, one-of-a-kind original.
They can be laid on the floor or even hung on a wall as art.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh, a rug you can cherish for a lifetime?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the pile.
For stubborn dirt: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a cloth or towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove any detergent and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Important Notes
Due to being hand-woven, there may be variations in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, and dyeing irregularities. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-woven products.
Also, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique odor from the wool dyes may be present.
The odor will gradually disappear with use, but please be aware of this beforehand.
Pom-poms can be removed before shipping
