Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom, following the direction of the pile.
For stubborn dirt: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel or similar cloth, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove the detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated shaded area.

Due to being hand-woven, there may be slight distortions in shape or pattern, weaving irregularities, and dyeing irregularities. Please consider these as part of the charm of a hand-woven item. Also, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool, which may result in a distinctive odor from the dyes used on the wool. This odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
