Characteristics of Persian Hand-woven Gabbeh

Gabbeh are long-pile rugs deeply rooted in daily life, hand-woven by the Qashqai nomads in the Zagros Mountains of Iran using naturally dyed wool. The Persian Variant wool used in this product has excellent durability to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and its soft, pleasant texture contains a lot of fat to help with temperature regulation.

Daily Care

Remove dirt and dust by vacuuming or sweeping along the pile.
If concerned about dirt: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel or similar cloth tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, carefully wipe with water to remove the detergent and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.

Points to Note

Due to being hand-woven, there may be irregularities in shape, pattern, weaving, and dyeing. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-weaving.
Also, Gabbeh are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, there may be a unique odor from the dyes used on the wool.
The odor will gradually disappear with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
