Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust by vacuuming or sweeping along the pile.
If concerned about dirt: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel or similar cloth tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, carefully wipe with water to remove the detergent and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Points to Note
Due to being hand-woven, there may be irregularities in shape, pattern, weaving, and dyeing. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-weaving.
Also, Gabbeh are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, there may be a unique odor from the dyes used on the wool.
The odor will gradually disappear with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
