Characteristics of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh Rugs
Gabbeh rugs are long-pile, hand-woven rugs made by the Qashqai nomads in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, using plant-dyed wool. The Persian Variant wool used in this product possesses excellent durability for survival in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, as well as a soft and pleasant texture with a high fat content to regulate body temperature effectively.
Gabbeh rugs, hand-woven strand by strand by Iranian nomads using natural dyes, are characterized by their fluffy and pleasant texture.
Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are highly durable, said to last for 100 years.
Gabbeh rugs, born from a climate with large temperature differences between day and night, also have the characteristic of being warm in winter and airy in summer, preventing feelings of heat.
And, above all, their artistry. Gabbeh rugs, created from the imagination of nomads, often feature designs of animals and plants, with each one being a unique, original item.
They can be laid on the floor or even hung on a wall as art.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh rug that you can cherish for a long time?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the direction of the pile.
If concerned about stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with water, remove the detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Notes
Due to the hand-woven nature, there may be distortions in shape and pattern, uneven weaving, and uneven dyeing. Please consider these as part of the charm of a hand-woven item.
Also, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique odor from the dyes used to color the wool may occur.
The odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this beforehand.

The pom-poms located at the corners and in the middle of the Gabbeh rug can be removed before delivery upon request.
Removing the pom-poms does not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh rug.
