Features of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh rugs are long-pile, hand-woven carpets dyed with natural plant dyes, made by the Qashqai nomads of the Zagros Mountains in Iran. The Persian Variant wool used in this product is known for its excellent durability, allowing it to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and its soft, pleasant texture, which contains a lot of oil to help regulate body temperature.
Gabbeh rugs, woven individually by Iranian nomads using this naturally dyed wool, are characterized by their fluffy and comfortable feel.
Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are highly durable, said to last for 100 years.
Originating from a climate with extreme daily temperature differences, Gabbeh rugs are also warm in winter and airy in summer, preventing feelings of heat.
And above all, there is its artistic nature. Gabbeh rugs created from the imagination of nomads often feature designs of animals and plants, with each one being a unique, one-of-a-kind original.
They can be laid on the floor or even hung on a wall as art.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh, a rug you can cherish for a lifetime?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom, following the direction of the pile.
For stubborn dirt: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel or similar cloth tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Afterwards, wipe thoroughly with water to remove detergent residue, then dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Important Notes
Due to its hand-woven nature, there may be slight distortions in shape or pattern, uneven weaving, or uneven dyeing. Please note that these are part of the charm of a hand-woven product.
Also, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, there may be a distinctive odor from the dyes used on the wool.
While the odor will gradually dissipate with use, we ask for your understanding in advance.
