Features of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh rugs are long-pile, hand-woven rugs made by the Qashqai tribe, who are nomads in the Zagros Mountains of Iran. They are made from vegetable-dyed wool and are deeply rooted in their daily lives. The Persian Variant wool used in this product has excellent durability, allowing sheep to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and contains a lot of fat to regulate body temperature, making it soft and pleasant to the touch.
The Gabbeh rugs are made by hand-weaving this wool, dyed with natural dyes, by Iranian nomads, one strand at a time. They are characterized by their fluffy and comfortable texture.
Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are said to last 100 years, demonstrating their excellent durability.
Born from a climate with large temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh rugs are warm in winter and airy in summer, creating a cool sensation.
And above all, there is its artistry. Gabbeh rugs, created from the imagination of nomads, often feature animal and plant designs, with each one being a unique, original piece.
They can be laid on the floor or even hung on the wall as art.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh, one that you can use for a long time?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom, following the direction of the pile.
For stubborn dirt: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, and gently wipe the surface with a tightly wrung towel or similar. Then, carefully wipe with a damp cloth to remove the detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
