Characteristics of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh

Gabbeh rugs are long-pile, hand-woven carpets made by the Qashqai nomads who live in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, using vegetable-dyed wool. The Persian Variant wool used in this product has excellent durability, necessary for survival in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and a soft, pleasant texture rich in natural oils, allowing for good body temperature regulation. Gabbehs, hand-woven meticulously by Iranian nomads, strand by strand, using this naturally dyed wool, are characterized by their fluffy and pleasant texture. Strongly woven Gabbehs are so durable that they are said to last for 100 years. Gabbehs, created in a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, are warm in winter and well-ventilated in summer, preventing feelings of heat. Daily Care

Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the direction of the pile. For stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with water to remove the detergent and dry in a well-ventilated shade.
