Characteristics of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh are rugs woven by the Qashqai nomads who roam the Zagros Mountains in Iran. They are hand-woven from plant-dyed wool with a long pile, deeply rooted in their daily lives. The Persian variant wool used in this product, developed to survive the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, possesses excellent durability and a soft, pleasant texture with a high oil content for effective body temperature regulation.
The Gabbeh are made from this wool, dyed with natural dyes, and meticulously hand-woven by Iranian nomads, one thread at a time, resulting in a fluffy and comfortable texture.
Well-woven Gabbeh are so durable they are said to last 100 years.
Born from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh are warm in winter and breathable in summer, offering a cool feel.
And above all, there is their artistry. Gabbeh, created from the nomads' imagination, often feature animal and plant designs, making each one a unique, one-of-a-kind piece with no two alike.
They can be laid on the floor or even hung on a wall as art.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh that you can use for a long time?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom, following the direction of the pile.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove any detergent residue and dry in a well-ventilated shaded area.
Please Note
Due to being hand-woven, there may be variations in shape, pattern distortion, weaving irregularities, and dyeing inconsistencies. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-woven items.
Also, Gabbeh are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique odor from the dyes used to color the wool may be present.
This odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.

Removing the pom-poms does not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
