Features of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh rugs are long-pile rugs deeply rooted in the daily lives of the Qashqai people, nomadic tribes in Iran's Zagros Mountains, hand-woven from naturally dyed wool. The Persian Variant wool used in this product possesses excellent durability for surviving in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and its soft, pleasant-to-the-touch texture contains a high amount of oil to skillfully regulate body temperature. Gabbeh rugs, hand-woven by Iranian nomads, thread by thread, using this naturally dyed wool, are characterized by their plush and pleasant feel. A well-woven Gabbeh is said to last 100 years, demonstrating its exceptional durability. Gabbeh rugs, created in a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, are warm in winter and well-ventilated in summer, providing comfort even in heat. And then there's their artistry. Gabbeh rugs, imagined and created by nomads, often feature designs of animals and plants, with each one being a unique, original piece. They can be laid on the floor or even hung on walls as art. Why not find your own special Gabbeh, a Gabbeh that you can cherish for a lifetime?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom, following the direction of the pile. For stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove the detergent and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Important Notes
Due to being hand-woven, there may be distortions in shape and pattern, and irregularities in weaving and dyeing. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-woven items. Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique scent from the dyes used to color the wool may be present. The scent will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
