Features of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh rugs are long-pile, hand-woven carpets made by the Qashqai tribe, who nomadize in the Zagros Mountains of Iran. They are dyed with natural dyes and made from wool, deeply rooted in their daily lives. The "Persian Variant" wool used in this product is exceptionally durable, allowing sheep to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and contains a high amount of lanolin for excellent temperature regulation, resulting in a soft and pleasant texture. These Gabbeh rugs, hand-woven meticulously by Iranian nomads using wool dyed with natural dyes, are characterized by their fluffy and pleasant feel. Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are highly durable, said to last for 100 years. Born from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh rugs are warm in winter and breathable in summer, offering a cool sensation. And above all, their artistry. Gabbeh rugs, created from the imagination of nomads, often feature designs of animals and plants, making each one a unique, one-of-a-kind original. They can, of course, be laid on the floor, but are also artistic enough to be displayed on walls. How about finding your own special Gabbeh, one that you can use for a long time?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the pile. If you are concerned about stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with water to remove the detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Notes
Due to being hand-woven, there may be irregularities in shape, pattern distortion, weaving inconsistencies, and dyeing variations. Please consider these as part of the charm of hand-weaving. Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique odor from the dyes used on the wool may be present. The odor will gradually fade with use, but please be aware of this beforehand.
