Characteristics of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh

Gabbeh are long-pile rugs woven by the Qashqai nomads of Iran's Zagros Mountains, using vegetable-dyed wool. The Persian Variant wool used in this product has excellent durability to survive the harsh conditions of the Zagros Mountains and is rich in natural oils, making it soft and pleasant to the touch, skillfully regulating body temperature.
Gabbeh, woven meticulously by Iranian nomads using natural dyes, one strand at a time, are characterized by their fluffy and comfortable feel.
Well-woven Gabbeh are said to last 100 years, boasting superior durability.
Born from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh are also characterized by being warm in winter and well-ventilated in summer, preventing overheating.
And above all, there is its artistry. Gabbeh, created from the imagination of nomads, often feature animal and plant designs, with each piece being a unique, one-of-a-kind original.
They can be laid on the floor or even hung on a wall as art.

Daily Care

Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom, following the direction of the pile.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.

Notes

Due to being hand-woven, there may be irregularities in shape and pattern, weaving inconsistencies, and color variations. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-woven products.
Also, Gabbeh are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique odor from the wool dye may be present.
This odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.

Pom-poms can be removed before shipping.

The pom-poms on the corners or middle of the Gabbeh can be removed upon request before delivery.
Removing the pom-poms will not adversely affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
