Characteristics of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh are long-pile, hand-woven carpets made by the Qashqai nomads of the Zagros Mountains in Iran, using vegetable-dyed wool deeply rooted in their daily lives. The Persian Valiant wool used in this product boasts excellent durability to withstand the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and its soft, pleasant-to-the-touch texture contains a high oil content for effective thermoregulation. These Gabbehs, hand-woven thread by thread by Iranian nomads using natural dyes, are characterized by their plush and pleasant feel. Well-woven Gabbehs are highly durable, said to last for 100 years. Gabbehs, born from the climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, are warm in winter and well-ventilated in summer, providing a cool sensation. And above all, there's their artistry. Gabbehs created from the imagination of nomads often feature designs of animals and plants, making each one a unique, one-of-a-kind original. They can be placed on the floor or even hung on walls as art. Why not find your own special Gabbeh that you can use for a long time?
Daily Care
Remove dust and debris with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the pile. For stubborn dirt: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with water to remove the detergent and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Important Notes
Due to being hand-woven, there may be slight irregularities in shape, pattern, weaving, and dyeing. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-woven items. Additionally, Gabbehs are woven from sheep's wool, which may result in a distinctive odor from the wool dyes. This odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
Pom-poms can be removed upon request for shipping.

The pom-poms on the corners and in the middle of the Gabbeh can be removed before shipping if you request it.
Removing the pom-poms will not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
If you wish to have the pom-poms removed before shipping, please feel free to contact us via email or phone below.
