Features of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh

Gabbeh are long-piled rugs hand-woven by the Qashqai nomads living in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, using plant-dyed wool deeply rooted in their daily lives. The "Persian Variant" wool used in this product possesses excellent durability, necessary for survival in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and a soft, pleasant texture rich in oil to effectively regulate body temperature.

Gabbeh, woven by Iranian nomads using this naturally dyed wool, carefully hand-tying each knot, are characterized by their fluffy and pleasant feel.

Well-woven Gabbeh are highly durable, said to last for 100 years.

Gabbeh, created in a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, are warm in winter and well-ventilated in summer, preventing overheating.

And above all, there's their artistry. Gabbeh, created from the imagination of nomads, often feature designs of animals and plants, with each piece being a unique, one-of-a-kind original.

They can be laid on the floor or even displayed on a wall as art.

Daily Care

Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the pile direction.

For stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, thoroughly wipe with a damp cloth to remove the detergent and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.

Please Note

Due to being hand-woven, there may be distortions in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, and dyeing unevenness. Please consider these as part of the charm of hand-woven products.

Also, Gabbeh are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique odor from the dyes used to color the wool may be present.

The odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this beforehand.

Pompoms can be removed for shipping

The pompoms attached to the corners or middle of the Gabbeh can be removed upon request before delivery.

Removing the pompoms does not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
