Characteristics of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh rugs are long-pile, hand-woven carpets made by the Qashqai nomads in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, using plant-dyed wool. The Persian Variant wool used in this product has excellent durability, developed to survive the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and contains a high amount of natural oil for excellent temperature regulation, resulting in a soft and pleasant texture.
Gabbeh rugs, woven by Iranian nomads by hand, strand by strand, after dyeing the wool with natural dyes, are characterized by their fluffy and comfortable feel.
Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are so durable that they are said to last for 100 years.
Born from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh rugs are warm in winter and breathable in summer, offering a sensation of coolness.
And above all, there is their artistry. Gabbeh rugs created from the imagination of nomads often feature designs of animals and plants, with each one being a unique, original piece.
They can be laid on the floor or even hung on a wall as art.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh rug that you can use for a long time?
Daily Care
Remove dust and debris with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the direction of the pile.
For stubborn dirt: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water and gently wipe the surface with a tightly wrung towel or similar. Afterwards, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove any detergent, then dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Notes
Due to being hand-woven, there may be slight irregularities in shape and pattern, weaving inconsistencies, and uneven dyeing. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-woven items.
Also, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique scent from the wool dye may occur.
This scent will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
Pompoms can be removed before shipping

If requested, we can ship Gabbeh rugs with the pompoms on the corners or middle removed.
Removing the pompoms does not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh rug.
If you would like to request shipping without pompoms, please feel free to contact us via email or phone below.
