Features of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh rugs are hand-woven by the Qashqai tribe, who nomadize in Iran's Zagros Mountains, using vegetable-dyed wool with a long pile, deeply rooted in their daily lives. The wool used in this product, known as Persian Variant, possesses excellent durability to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and is rich in lanolin, making it soft and pleasant to the touch, skillfully regulating body temperature. Gabbeh rugs, hand-woven meticulously one by one by Iranian nomads using this wool dyed with natural dyes, are characterized by their plush and comfortable feel. A well-woven Gabbeh is said to last for 100 years, boasting exceptional durability. Gabbeh rugs, born from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, are warm in winter and airy in summer, preventing them from feeling hot. And above all, there is its artistry. Gabbeh rugs, created from the imagination of nomads, often feature designs of animals and plants, with each one being a unique, original item. They can be laid on the floor or even displayed on a wall as art. Why not find your own special Gabbeh, a rug you can cherish for a lifetime?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust by vacuuming or sweeping along the direction of the pile. stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water and gently wipe the surface with a tightly wrung towel. Then, carefully wipe with water to remove the detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Important Notes
Due to being hand-woven, there may be slight distortions in shape or pattern, weaving irregularities, and dye variations. Please understand that these are part of the unique charm of a hand-woven item. Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique scent from the wool dye may be present. The scent will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this beforehand.
