Daily Care

Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom, following the direction of the pile. For stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove any detergent, and let it dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.

Important Notes

As these are hand-woven, there may be distortions in shape or pattern, weaving irregularities, or dyeing inconsistencies. Please consider these as part of the charm of hand-weaving. Also, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique scent from the wool dyes may be present. This scent will gradually disappear with use, but please be aware of this in advance.

Pom-poms can be removed for shipping

The pom-poms attached to the corners or middle of the Gabbeh can be removed upon request before shipment. Removing the pom-poms will not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
