Features of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh are long-piled rugs, deeply rooted in the lives of the Qashqai nomads who hand-weave them in the Zagros Mountains of Iran using naturally dyed wool. The Persian Variant wool used in this product has excellent durability, allowing it to withstand the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and contains a high fat content to regulate body temperature, resulting in a soft and pleasant texture. Gabbeh rugs, hand-woven by Iranian nomads strand by strand from this naturally dyed wool, are characterized by their fluffy and pleasant feel. A well-woven Gabbeh is said to last for 100 years, boasting exceptional durability. Gabbeh, born from the extreme temperature differences between day and night, are warm in winter and well-ventilated in summer, preventing feelings of heat. And above all, there is its artistry. Gabbeh, created from the imagination of nomads, often feature designs of animals and plants, with each piece being a unique, one-of-a-kind original. They can be laid on the floor or even hung on a wall as art. How about finding your own special Gabbeh that you can use for a long time?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the pile. For stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool and silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove the detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Notes
Due to the handmade nature, there may be distortions in shape or pattern, weaving irregularities, and dyeing unevenness. Please understand that these are part of the charm of a hand-woven item. Additionally, Gabbeh are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a distinctive odor from the dye used on the wool may be present. This odor will gradually disappear with use, but please be aware of it in advance.
