Features of Persian Hand-woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh rugs are hand-woven by the Qashqai nomads in the Zagros Mountains of Iran. These rugs are deeply rooted in their daily life, featuring long piles and wool dyed with natural plant dyes. The Persian Valiant wool used in this product has excellent durability, allowing it to withstand the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains. It also contains a high amount of natural oils to help regulate body temperature, resulting in a soft and pleasant texture. Gabbeh rugs, made by Iranian nomads who meticulously hand-weave each strand of naturally dyed wool, are characterized by their plush and comfortable feel. Strongly woven Gabbeh rugs are highly durable, said to last for 100 years. Originating from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh rugs are warm in winter and breathable in summer, offering a cool sensation. And above all, there's their artistic quality. Gabbeh rugs, imaginatively crafted by nomads, often feature designs of animals and plants, with each piece being a unique, one-of-a-kind original. They can be laid on the floor or even hung on a wall as art. Why not find your own special Gabbeh, a piece you can cherish for a lifetime?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the direction of the pile. For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a cloth tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove any detergent residue, and dry in a well-ventilated shaded area.
Important Notes
Due to being hand-woven, there may be variations in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, and dyeing inconsistencies. Please understand that these are part of the charm of a hand-woven item. Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique scent from the wool dye may be present. This scent will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this beforehand.
