Features of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh are long-piled rugs woven by hand by the Qashqai nomads in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, using plant-dyed wool. The Persian Variant wool used in this product has excellent durability to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains and contains a high amount of natural oils, making it soft and pleasant to the touch, skillfully regulating body temperature. Gabbeh, hand-woven piece by piece by Iranian nomads using natural dyes on this wool, are characterized by their plush and comfortable texture. Well-woven Gabbeh are said to last for 100 years, indicating their exceptional durability. Originating from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh are warm in winter and well-ventilated in summer, preventing them from feeling hot. Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the pile. For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a cloth tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove the detergent and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.

Due to the hand-woven nature, there may be irregularities in shape and pattern, weaving inconsistencies, and dyeing variations. Please note that these are part of the charm of a hand-woven item. Additionally, Gabbeh are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, there may be a unique odor from the dyes used on the wool. This odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
Pompoms can be removed before shipping
If requested, the pompoms attached to the corners or middle of the Gabbeh can be removed before delivery. Removing the pompoms will not adversely affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
