Characteristics of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh rugs are long-pile rugs made from plant-dyed wool, hand-woven by the Qashqai tribe who nomadize in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, and are deeply rooted in their daily lives. The Persian Variant wool used in this product has excellent durability to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and a soft, pleasant texture with a high oil content to regulate body temperature effectively. Gabbeh rugs, made by Iranian nomads hand-weaving each strand of this wool dyed with natural dyes, are characterized by their fluffy and pleasant texture. A firmly woven Gabbeh is said to last 100 years, boasting excellent durability. Gabbeh rugs, born from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, are warm in winter and airy in summer, preventing a feeling of heat. And above all, there is its artistry. Gabbeh rugs created from the imagination of nomads often feature animal and plant designs, with each piece being a unique original. They can be laid on the floor or even hung on a wall as art. How about finding your own special Gabbeh, one that you can use for a long time?
