Daily Care

Remove dust and dirt with a vacuum cleaner or broom, following the direction of the pile. If it gets dirty: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel or similar cloth tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, carefully wipe with a damp cloth to remove the detergent and dry it in a well-ventilated, shaded area.

Important Notes

Due to being hand-woven, there may be irregularities in shape, pattern, weaving, and dyeing. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-weaving. Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, there may be a unique smell from the dye used on the wool. This smell will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of it beforehand.

Pom-poms can be removed before shipping.

The pom-poms on the corners or in the middle of the Gabbeh can be removed upon request before delivery. Removing the pom-poms does not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
