Features of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh rugs are hand-woven by the Qashqai tribe, who nomadize in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, using plant-dyed wool with long piles, deeply rooted in their daily lives. The Persian Valiant wool used in this product has excellent durability to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and its soft and pleasant texture, containing a lot of oil to regulate body temperature effectively. These Gabbeh rugs, hand-woven by Iranian nomads strand by strand with wool dyed with natural dyes, are characterized by their fluffy and pleasant feel. Gabbeh rugs, tightly woven, are highly durable, said to last for 100 years. Born from a climate with drastic temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh rugs are warm in winter and airy in summer, making them feel cool. And, above all, their artistry. Gabbeh rugs, created from the nomads' imagination, often feature animal and plant designs, and each one is a unique, original piece. They can, of course, be laid on the floor, but are also artistic enough to be displayed on walls. Gabbeh rugs are made to last. Why not find your own special Gabbeh?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the pile. For stubborn dirt: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel or similar cloth firmly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, carefully wipe with a damp cloth to remove the detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Please Note
Due to its hand-woven nature, there may be irregularities in shape and pattern, and unevenness in weaving and dyeing. Please understand that these are part of the charm of a hand-woven item. Also, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, there may be a unique odor from the dye used for the wool. This odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
