Daily Care

Vacuum or sweep along the pile to remove dirt and dust. If you notice dirt: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove any detergent, and let it dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.

Due to being hand-woven, there may be variations in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, and dyeing irregularities. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-woven items. Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, there may be a unique odor from the dyes used to color the wool. This odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of it in advance.

Pom-poms can be removed before shipping.

If requested, the pom-poms attached to the corners or middle of the Gabbeh rug can be removed before delivery. Removing the pom-poms will not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh rug.
