Features of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh rugs are hand-woven by the Qashqai nomadic tribe in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, using plant-dyed wool to create long-pile rugs deeply rooted in their daily lives. The Persian variant wool used in this product has excellent durability, allowing it to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and contains a lot of oil to regulate body temperature effectively, resulting in a soft and pleasant texture. These Gabbeh rugs, hand-woven by Iranian nomads, knot by knot, using wool dyed with natural dyes, are characterized by their fluffy and pleasant feel. A well-woven Gabbeh is so durable that it is said to last for 100 years. Gabbeh rugs, born from a climate with extreme temperature fluctuations between day and night, are warm in winter and well-ventilated in summer, providing a cool feeling. And above all, there's its artistic quality. The Gabbeh rugs created from the imagination of nomads often feature designs of animals and plants, with each one being a unique, original piece. They can be laid on the floor or even displayed on a wall as art. Why not find your own special Gabbeh, a rug you can cherish forever?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the direction of the pile. For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel or similar cloth tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove the detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated shaded area.
Important Notes
Due to the hand-woven nature, there may be slight irregularities in shape and pattern, weaving inconsistencies, and dyeing variations. Please consider these as part of the charm of a hand-woven item. Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. As such, there may be a unique odor from the dyes used on the wool. This odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
