Characteristics of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh rugs are long-pile rugs deeply rooted in the lives of the Qashqai people, nomadic tribes in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, who hand-weave them using plant-dyed wool. The Persian Variant wool used in this product has excellent durability to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains and contains a lot of oil for good body temperature regulation, resulting in soft and pleasant-feeling wool. Gabbeh rugs, made by nomads in Iran who dye this wool with natural dyes and meticulously hand-weave each strand, are characterized by their fluffy and comfortable texture. Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are so durable that they are said to last for 100 years. Gabbeh rugs, born from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, are warm in winter and airy in summer, with the characteristic of not feeling hot. And, above all, their artistry. Gabbeh rugs created from the imagination of nomads often feature designs of animals and plants, with each piece being a unique, one-of-a-kind original. They can be laid on the floor or even displayed on a wall as art. Why not find your own special Gabbeh rug that you can use forever?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the pile. If the dirt is bothersome: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool and silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with water to remove the detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Notes
Due to the handmade nature, there may be irregularities in shape or pattern, weaving unevenness, and dyeing unevenness. Please consider these as part of the charm of hand-woven items. Also, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique scent from the wool dye may occur. The scent will gradually disappear with use, but please be aware of this beforehand.
Pom-poms can be removed before shipping.

If requested, the pom-poms attached to the corners or middle of the Gabbeh can be removed before delivery. Removing the pom-poms does not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh. If you wish to have the pom-poms removed before shipping, please feel free to contact us by email or phone below.
