Gabbeh are long-piled, hand-woven rugs made by the Qashqai nomads who graze their flocks in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, using plant-dyed wool. For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel firmly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with water to remove any detergent, and let it dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
