Features of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh

Gabbeh are long-piled rugs hand-woven by the Qashqai tribe, who nomadically herd in Iran's Zagros Mountains, using wool dyed with natural plant dyes, and are deeply rooted in their daily lives. The "Persian Variant" wool used in this product possesses excellent durability for survival in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, as well as soft, pleasant-to-the-touch fibers rich in oil for effective temperature regulation.
These Gabbeh, hand-woven meticulously by Iranian nomads using this wool dyed with natural dyes, are characterized by their fluffy and pleasant texture.
Well-woven Gabbeh are said to last for 100 years, demonstrating their exceptional durability.

Daily Care

Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the pile direction.
If concerned about stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, and gently wipe the surface with a well-wrung towel or similar. Afterward, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove detergent and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.

Important Notes

Due to being hand-woven, there may be irregularities in shape and pattern, and variations in weaving and dyeing. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-weaving.
Additionally, Gabbeh are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a distinctive odor from the dye used on the wool may be present.
The odor will gradually disappear with use, but please be aware of this beforehand.

Pompoms can be removed before shipping

If requested, the pompoms attached to the corners or middle of the Gabbeh can be removed before delivery.
Removing the pompoms does not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
