Characteristics of Persian Hand-woven Gabbeh

Gabbeh are long-pile rugs deeply rooted in the daily lives of the Qashqai nomads who weave them by hand in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, using plant-dyed wool. The Persian Valiant wool used in this product possesses excellent durability for survival in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, as well as a soft and pleasant texture with a high oil content for effective temperature regulation. Gabbeh, made from this wool dyed with natural dyes and meticulously hand-woven knot by knot by Iranian nomads, are characterized by their fluffy and comfortable feel. Well-woven Gabbeh are said to be so durable that they can last for 100 years. Gabbeh, born from the climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, are warm in winter and well-ventilated in summer, providing a cool feeling. And above all, there is its artistry. The Gabbeh created from the nomads' imaginations often feature designs of animals and plants, with each one being a unique, original piece. Daily Care

Remove dirt and dust by vacuuming or sweeping along the direction of the pile. For stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel or similar cloth firmly, and gently wipe the surface. Afterwards, wipe thoroughly with water to remove the detergent, then dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.

Notes

Due to being hand-woven, there may be distortions in shape or pattern, weaving irregularities, and dyeing irregularities. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-weaving. Additionally, Gabbeh are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique scent from the wool dye may be present. The scent will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this beforehand.
