Features of Persian Handwoven Gabbeh
Gabbeh rugs are handwoven by the Qashqai nomads who roam the Zagros Mountains of Iran, using plant-dyed wool to create long-pile rugs deeply rooted in their daily lives. The Persian Valiant wool used in this product has excellent durability, allowing it to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and contains a high fat content to regulate body temperature effectively, resulting in a soft and pleasant feel.
The Gabbeh rugs, woven piece by piece by Iranian nomads using this natural dyed wool, are characterized by their plush and comfortable texture.
Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are highly durable, said to last for 100 years.
Originating from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh rugs also have the characteristic of being warm in winter and breathable in summer, preventing feelings of heat.
And above all, there is its artistry. Gabbeh rugs, created from the nomads' imaginations, often feature designs of animals and plants, with each piece being a unique, one-of-a-kind original.
They are not only suitable for laying on the floor but can also be displayed as art on walls.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh, a rug you can cherish for a lifetime?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom, following the direction of the pile.
If concerned about stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool and silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove any detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Important Notes
Due to being handwoven, there may be variations in shape, pattern distortion, weaving irregularities, and dye inconsistencies. Please consider these as part of the charm of a handwoven item.
Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique scent from the wool dye may be present.
This scent will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
