Features of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh Rugs
Gabbeh are long-piled, hand-woven rugs deeply rooted in the lives of the Qashqai nomads who inhabit the Zagros Mountains of Iran. They are made from vegetable-dyed wool. The Persian Variant wool used in this product has excellent durability, allowing it to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and a soft, pleasant texture with high oil content to effectively regulate body temperature.
Gabbeh rugs, made by nomads in Iran who dye this wool with natural dyes and meticulously hand-weave each strand, are characterized by their fluffy and pleasant feel.
Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are so durable that they are said to last for 100 years.
Gabbeh, born from the extreme temperature differences between day and night, also have the characteristic of being warm in winter and airy and not feeling hot in summer.
And above all, there is their artistry. Gabbeh rugs, created from the imagination of nomads, often feature designs of animals and plants, with each one being a unique, one-of-a-kind original.
They can be laid on the floor or even hung on a wall as art.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh, one that you can cherish for a long time?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom, following the direction of the pile.
For stubborn dirt: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then carefully wipe with a wet cloth to remove detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated shaded area.
Please Note
Due to being hand-woven, there may be irregularities in shape, pattern, weaving, and dyeing. Please consider these as part of the charm of hand-weaving.
Also, Gabbeh are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, there may be a distinctive smell from the dyes used to color the wool.
This smell will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
Pompoms can be removed upon request

If requested, the pompoms located at the corners and in the middle of the Gabbeh can be removed before shipment.
Removing the pompoms does not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
If you would like the pompoms removed before shipment, please feel free to contact us via the email or phone number below.
