Features of Persian Hand-woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh rugs are long-pile, everyday rugs hand-woven by the Qashqai tribe, who nomadically live in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, using plant-dyed wool. The Persian Variant wool used in this product has excellent durability to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and contains a lot of oil to regulate body temperature, making it soft and pleasant to the touch.
These Gabbeh rugs, dyed with natural dyes and meticulously hand-woven by Iranian nomads, are characterized by their plush and pleasant feel.
Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are highly durable, said to last for 100 years.
Gabbeh, born from the extreme temperature differences between day and night, is warm in winter and well-ventilated in summer, providing a cool feeling.
And, above all, there's its artistry. Gabbeh created from the imagination of nomads often features animal and plant designs, with each piece being a unique original.
They can, of course, be laid on the floor, but also hung on walls as art.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh that you can use for a long time?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the pile.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, carefully wipe with water to remove any detergent residue, and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Please Note
Due to being hand-woven, there may be distortions in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, and dyeing irregularities. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-weaving.
Also, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique odor from the dyes used to color the wool may occur.
The odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
