Characteristics of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh

Gabbeh are long-piled rugs hand-woven by the Qashqai tribe, who nomadically graze the Zagros Mountains of Iran. They are made from wool dyed with natural plant dyes and are deeply rooted in their daily lives. The wool used in this product, called "Persian Variant," possesses excellent durability to survive the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and is soft and pleasant to the touch, containing a lot of oil to regulate body temperature effectively.
Gabbeh rugs, made from this wool dyed with natural dyes and meticulously hand-woven by Iranian nomads, are characterized by their fluffy and pleasant texture.

Daily Care

Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the direction of the pile.
If concerned about stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel or similar cloth, and gently wipe the surface. Then, thoroughly wipe with a damp cloth to remove the detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.

Notes

Due to being hand-woven, there may be irregularities in shape, pattern, weave, and dye. Please understand that these are part of the charm of a hand-woven item.
Additionally, Gabbeh are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, there may be a unique scent from the dyes used on the wool.
The scent will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
