Characteristics of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh Rugs

Gabbeh rugs are hand-woven by the Qashqai tribe, who nomadically inhabit the Zagros Mountains in Iran. These long-piled rugs are rooted in their daily lives and are made from vegetable-dyed wool. Daily Care

Remove dirt and dust by vacuuming or sweeping along the direction of the pile.
If it becomes stained: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove the detergent, and dry it in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
