Characteristics of Persian Handwoven Gabbeh
Gabbeh are long-pile rugs woven by hand by the Qashqai tribe, who nomadize in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, using plant-dyed wool. The Persian Valiant wool used in this product has excellent durability to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and contains a lot of oil to regulate body temperature, resulting in soft and pleasant-feeling wool.
These Gabbeh, made from wool dyed with natural dyes and meticulously handwoven by Iranian nomads, are characterized by their fluffy and comfortable texture.
Well-woven Gabbeh are said to last 100 years, boasting exceptional durability.
Originating from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh are warm in winter and breathable in summer, preventing the feeling of heat.
And above all, there is its artistry. Gabbeh created from the nomads' imagination often feature designs of animals and plants, with no two being alike, making each one a unique original.
They can be laid on the floor or even hung on a wall as art.

Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the direction of the pile.
If dirt is a concern: dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel or similar cloth, and gently wipe the surface. Then, carefully wipe with a damp cloth to remove the detergent and dry in a well-ventilated shade.
Points to Note
Due to being handwoven, there may be irregularities in shape and pattern, weaving inconsistencies, and dyeing variations. Please understand that these are part of the charm of handweaving.
Also, Gabbeh are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, there may be a unique odor from the dye used to color the wool.
Please note that the odor will gradually disappear with use.
