Characteristics of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh Rugs
Gabbeh rugs are hand-woven by the Qashqai nomads living in Iran's Zagros Mountains, using vegetable-dyed wool with a long pile, deeply rooted in their daily life. The Persian Variant wool used in this product possesses excellent durability for surviving the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and its soft, pleasant texture, rich in natural oils, helps regulate body temperature.
These Gabbeh rugs, hand-woven by Iranian nomads with care, strand by strand, using wool dyed with natural dyes, are characterized by their plush and comfortable feel.
Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are renowned for their exceptional durability, said to last for 100 years.
Originating from a climate with extreme daily temperature differences, Gabbeh rugs are warm in winter and well-ventilated in summer, offering a feeling of coolness.
And, above all, their artistry is remarkable. Gabbeh rugs, created from the imagination of nomads, often feature designs of animals and plants, with each piece being a unique, original item.
They can be laid on the floor or even displayed on walls as art.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh, a rug you can cherish for a long time?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust by vacuuming or sweeping along the pile direction.
For stubborn dirt: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a cloth tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove any detergent residue and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Important Notes
Due to being hand-woven, there may be variations in shape, pattern distortion, weaving irregularities, and dyeing unevenness. Please consider these as part of the charm of a hand-woven item.
Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, there may be a unique smell from the wool dye.
While the smell will gradually dissipate with use, we ask for your understanding in advance.
Pompoms Can Be Removed Upon Request

The pompoms attached to the corners or middle of the Gabbeh rug can be removed before delivery upon request.
Removing the pompoms will not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh rug.
If you wish for your order to be shipped without pompoms, please feel free to contact us via email or phone below.
