Features of Persian Hand-woven Gabbeh Rugs
Gabbeh are long-pile, hand-woven rugs made by the Qashqai tribe, who nomadically herd in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, using plant-dyed wool. These rugs are deeply rooted in their daily lives. The "Persian Variant" wool used in this product comes from sheep that live in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, providing excellent durability for survival and containing a high amount of natural oil for effective body temperature regulation, resulting in a soft and pleasant texture.
Gabbeh rugs are characterized by their plush and comfortable feel, created by Iranian nomads who carefully hand-weave each one from naturally dyed wool.
Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are highly durable, said to last for 100 years.
Originating from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh rugs are warm in winter and well-ventilated in summer, preventing feelings of heat.
And above all, there's their artistry. The Gabbeh rugs created by the nomads' imagination often feature designs of animals and plants, with each one being a unique, original piece.
They can be laid on the floor or even hung on a wall as art.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh rug that you can use for a long time?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom, following the direction of the pile.
For stubborn dirt: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water and gently wipe the surface with a tightly wrung towel. Then, carefully wipe with a damp cloth to remove the detergent and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Important Notes
Due to being hand-woven, there may be irregularities in shape and pattern, weaving inconsistencies, and dyeing variations. Please understand that these are part of the charm of a hand-woven item.
Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. As a result, there may be a distinctive odor from the dyes used on the wool.
Please be aware that the odor will gradually dissipate with use.
Pompoms can be removed before shipping

If requested, the pompoms attached to the corners or middle of the Gabbeh can be removed before delivery.
Removing the pompoms will not adversely affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
