Features of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh rugs are long-pile rugs deeply rooted in daily life, hand-woven by the Qashqai tribe, who nomadize in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, using wool dyed with natural plant dyes. The Persian Variant wool used in this product has excellent durability to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains and contains a lot of oil to regulate body temperature effectively, resulting in soft and pleasant-to-the-touch fibers.
These wools are dyed with natural dyes and then meticulously hand-woven by Iranian nomads, one strand at a time, resulting in a Gabbeh that is fluffy and has a pleasant feel.
Carefully woven Gabbeh rugs are so durable that they are said to last for 100 years.
Gabbeh rugs, born from the climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, are warm in winter and well-ventilated in summer, preventing them from feeling hot.
And above all, there is its artistry. Gabbeh rugs created from the imagination of nomads often feature designs of animals and plants, and each one is a unique, one-of-a-kind original.
They can be laid on the floor or even hung on a wall as art.
Why not find a special Gabbeh rug that is uniquely yours and can be used for a long time?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the direction of the pile.
If concerned about stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove the detergent and dry in a well-ventilated shade.
Important Notes
Due to being hand-woven, there may be variations in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, and dyeing irregularities. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-weaving.
Also, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, there may be a unique odor from the dyes used on the wool.
The odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
Pompoms can be removed before shipping

If requested, we can remove the pompoms attached to the corners or middle of the Gabbeh and ship it to you in that condition.
Removing the pompoms does not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
