Features of Persian Hand-woven Gabbeh

Gabbeh rugs are hand-woven by the Qashqai tribe, who nomadically inhabit the Zagros Mountains in Iran. They are deeply rooted in daily life and are characterized by their long pile and use of vegetable-dyed wool. The Persian Variant wool used in this product has excellent durability, necessary for survival in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and a soft, pleasant texture rich in oils that help regulate body temperature.
These wools are dyed with natural dyes and meticulously hand-woven by Iranian nomads, resulting in Gabbeh rugs that are plush and feel wonderful to the touch.

Daily Care

Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the pile direction.
If dirt is a concern: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel or similar cloth firmly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with water to remove the detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.

Important Notes

Due to the hand-woven nature, there may be irregularities in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, and dyeing unevenness. Please consider these as part of the charm of a hand-woven product.
Also, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique odor from the dyes used to color the wool may occur.
The odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this beforehand.
