Characteristics of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh rugs are long-pile rugs deeply rooted in the lives of the Qashqai nomadic tribe, who hand-weave them from vegetable-dyed wool in the Zagros Mountains of Iran. The Persian Variant wool used in this product possesses excellent durability for survival in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and its soft, pleasant texture is rich in natural oils, allowing for effective temperature regulation.
These Gabbeh rugs, hand-dyed with natural dyes and meticulously hand-woven strand by strand by Iranian nomads, are characterized by their plush and comfortable texture.
A tightly woven Gabbeh is said to last for 100 years, demonstrating its superior durability.
Born from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh rugs are warm in winter and breathable in summer, offering a cool feel.
And above all, there is its artistry. Gabbeh rugs, created from the imagination of nomads, often feature designs of animals and plants, with each one being a unique, original piece.
They can, of course, be laid on the floor, but are also beautiful enough to be displayed as art on a wall.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh, one that you can cherish for a lifetime?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom, following the direction of the pile.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water and gently wipe the surface with a tightly wrung out towel. Afterward, thoroughly wipe with a damp cloth to remove any detergent residue, then dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Important Notes
Due to being hand-woven, there may be irregularities in shape and pattern, weaving inconsistencies, and uneven dyeing. Please consider these as part of the charm of a hand-woven item.
Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique odor from the dye used on the wool may be present.
The odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this beforehand.
Pompoms can be removed before shipping

The pompoms located at the corners and in the middle of the Gabbeh can be removed upon request before shipment.
Removing the pompoms does not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
