Gabbeh are long-pile rugs, hand-woven by the Qashqai nomadic tribe in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, using plant-dyed wool as a fundamental part of their daily life. The "Persian Variant" wool used in this product is known for its excellent durability, allowing sheep to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and for its soft, pleasant texture, rich in natural oils that help regulate body temperature.

Daily Care

Remove dirt and dust by vacuuming or sweeping along the direction of the pile.
For stubborn dirt: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water and gently wipe the surface with a tightly wrung towel or similar. Afterward, thoroughly wipe with a damp cloth to remove any detergent, then air dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.

Due to being hand-woven, there may be distortions in shape or pattern, weaving irregularities, dyeing inconsistencies, etc. Please consider these as part of the charm of a hand-woven item.
Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique scent from the wool dyes may be present.
This scent will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this beforehand.
