Features of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh are long-pile rugs woven by hand by the Qashqai tribe, who nomadically herd sheep in Iran's Zagros Mountains, using vegetable-dyed wool. The Persian Variant wool used in this product is known for its excellent durability, essential for survival in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and its soft, pleasant texture due to its high oil content, which helps regulate body temperature.
Gabbeh, made by nomads in Iran who carefully hand-weave each strand of this wool dyed with natural dyes, are characterized by their plush and pleasant feel.
Well-woven Gabbeh are said to last 100 years, boasting exceptional durability.
Born from a climate with significant day-night temperature differences, Gabbeh also have the unique property of being warm in winter and airy and cool in summer.
And above all, there's its artistic quality. Gabbeh created from the imagination of nomads often feature designs of animals and plants, with each piece being a unique, one-of-a-kind original.
They can, of course, be laid on the floor, but are also artistic enough to be hung on a wall.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh that you can cherish forever?
